George J. Howard of Gasport passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the age of 88. Born in Lockport on May 13, 1928 he was the son of the late George S. and Blanche (Bixler) Howard. George was a Korean War veteran and was honorably discharged on June 24, 1952 after serving in the United States Army Infantry in Korea. He worked for General Motors at the Lockport Harrison Radiator Plant and retired in 1980 after 35 years of service. George is survived by his sister, Barbara (late Gordon “Pete”) Branch of Lockport; niece and nephew, Roxanne (Steven) Hebberd of Parsippany, NJ and Todd Branch of Lockport.
