Michael G. McCarthy passed away December 4, 2016 in Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. Born in Las Vegas, NV on May 31, 1945 he was the son of William A. and Phyllis (Gifford) McCarthy. Michael worked for 38 years at Delphi Thermal Systems where he was in quality control, retiring in March 2002. He was a member of the Rapids Volunteer Fire Company and the WNY Water Drill Association. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Michael is survived by his wife of 26 years Peggy (Bedford) McCarthy; father of David (Pamela) McCarthy, William McCarthy, Daniel McCarthy and late Christine Swanson; grandfather of Rebekah, Rachel, Shannon, Stephanie, Michele, Garret, and Tyler; great grandfather of four; brother of Patricia (David) Malin, Sue (John) Dwyer, Carol (Paul) LaRoach, and late Mark McCarthy; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, Dec. 9th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where services will be held Saturday, Dec. 10th at 10 AM. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Donations to the Rapids Volunteer Fire Co. or to the WNY Water Drill Association would be appreciated. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
