Obituary of Michael Farrell

Michael Farrell, formerly of Lockport, NY passed away peacefully June 15, 2016 at the age of 64 in his Port St. Lucie, Florida home under the care of Hospice and in the comfort of his family. Mike was born in Lockport, NY to Joan (Manson) MacFarlane and the late Robert Farrell. After graduating from Lockport High School, he began a proud forty four year career as an Electrician and Maintenance Supervisor with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Harrison Radiator, General Motors Powertrain, and Florida Power & Light. Mike was an avid pilot and enjoyed working on his RV-8 home built aircraft. He often could be found helping friends and family with home improvement work, or spending time with his grandchildren. Mike had a passion for genealogical research and traveled with his family to Ireland three times. Mike is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Carol (Riexinger); son Jeffrey (Maggie) of Alexandria, VA; daughter Kelli of Williamsville, NY; son Gregory (Jillian) of Las Vegas, NV; step-daughter Elizabeth (Keith) Karnisky, five siblings, seven grandchildren, and many other close relatives. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Wednesday, June 22nd at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY. Interment will take place at Cold Springs Cemetery.
