Obituary of Sandra Rowland

Sandra Lee Atkinson Kenny Rowland has departed from this life on June 13, 2016 after a brave five-year battle with COPD. She did not go quietly into the night, she fought hard. Sandy was born on May 15, 1941 to Dorothy Anders Atkinson Clarkson and James Atkinson in Niagara Falls.
She is a 1959 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School and graduated from Niagara County Community College. Sandy was multitalented enjoying doing crafts, making jewelry, quilting, embroidering, crossword and picture puzzles, painting, sketching, and flower gardening. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and family whom she loved very much.
Rest in peace Sandy, you are and will be missed and loved. Thank You's to the Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport 2 Center Staff and Niagara Hospice Staff for their compassionate care.
Sandy will be missed by her husband of 41 years, Franklin Rowland of Lockport; daughters, Alicia (Alan) Vieaux of Lockport and Jaime (David) Lyndaker of Holley; grandchildren, Emilie, Grace, Allison and Christopher; and her brother, Thomas Atkinson of Niagara Falls. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers, James and Robert Atkinson; her first husband, Michael Kenny; and his parents, James and Andrewetta Kenny.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, June 22nd from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where services will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
