Powell, Donald A., Lockport, a trucker for nearly forty years, shifted his last gear this morning, passing away on Friday, May 20, 2016. Born on October 29, 1927 to Franklin and Clara (Ertel) Powell, he married his wife of sixty-seven years, Audrey (La Joie) Powell on September 3, 1948.
Donald loved his family dearly, always willing to lend a hand to friends and family alike. He will be remembered as a quiet, gentle man of integrity. A proud long standing Teamster member, Don also enjoyed golf and bowling.
Predeceased by his daughter Deborah (Samuel) Williams, he is survived by his wife and three sons, Jon Scott (April) Powell of Gasport, Russell (Dawn) Powell of Newfane and Todd (Primitiva) Powell of Lockport. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Staci Williams, Amy (Robert) Gromlowits, Jenny (Mark) Price, Sean (Jamie) Powell, Sarah Powell, Matthew (Jennifer) Powell, Kelly (Joshua) Jordan, and Jason Kubik. He is also Papa to fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. We are all grateful for his presence in our lives.
