Norma J. Wittig passed away Thursday April 28, 2016 in Niagara Hospice House. Born Tonawanda on February 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Barrett. Norma served in the US Air Force from 1952 until 1953. She was a kindergarten teacher at Sweet Home School District for over 25 years retiring in 1991. Norma was a member of the Silver Sneakers, and was an Usher at the Studio Arena in Buffalo, she enjoyed going to see musicals, going to lunch and playing cards with her friends. Norma was the mother of Gregory (Karen) Duhamel, William Wittig, Laura Wittig and Deborah (Robert) Krans; grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 15. She was the sister of Mary Mounts and Jean Barrett. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A funeral service will be held Monday morning at 10 AM, at Pendleton Center United Methodist, 6864 Campbell Blvd, North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
