Ruth Shirley Lydston passed away Monday April 25, 2016 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Wolcottsville on July 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George and Esther Pfohl Marks. Ruth worked at A & P Grocery and also at Harrison Radiator. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, especially solitaire; she was also a member of the Rapids Seniors.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Lydston; her children Jeffrey Lydston, Michael (Colleen) Lydston, Linda (Charles) Nightingale and Sheri Lydston-Howard. Grandmother of Christopher, Kevin, Zachary, Morgan, Sean, Stephen and Jessica; great grandmother of Madelyn Ruth and Reign. Ruth was the sister of Shirley Licata and the late Richard Marks and Gladys Hill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday April 27th 4-8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where services will be held Thursday morning at 11 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240, would be appreciated by the family.
