Dorothy Stamm Wentland, passed away peacefully at home, on July 23, 2015 after a brief illness, with her 7 children at her bedside. She was born July 1, 1928 in Lockport and was the daughter of Alice Maloney. Dorothy was a life-long resident of Lockport. She worked at Briody Nursing Home for over 40 years and she was a pioneer in the Home Care field. Her greatest joy was her love for her 7 children and her children's love for each other. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband, Wilbert Wentland and brother James (Irma) Maloney. She is survived by her 7 children: Patricia (Michael) McGinnis of Shallotte, NC, Diane (Karen) Stamm of Seymore, TN, David Stamm of Los Angeles, CA, Douglas (Lisa) Stamm, of Littleton, MA, Deborah (Jeffrey) Rey of Lockport, Judith (Kevin) Moran of Lockport, Kenneth (Kathy) Stamm of Marietta, GA. She was stepmother of Thomas (Sandy) Wentland of Springville, NY, Diane Wentland of Ann Arbor, MI, Daniel (Kathy) Wentland of Mississippi, and Scott Wentland of Buffalo. She was grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 7, and great-great-grandmother of 3. Also, survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends are welcomed to join us in celebrating Dorothy's life on Sunday, July, 26th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, July 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church Street, Lockport. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Lockport, NY.
